A couple years back, I posted about my friend who needed to find a permanent or foster home for her cat Squirrel. See original post here:

Squirrel found a home right away, but now the new owners (Shelley - also a friend of mine) are moving to Virginia and will be staying on base and can't bring Squirrel with them. My friend Kimberly would love to take Squirrel back, but Kim now lives in Washington state in an place with a lease that specifically states dogs are okay, but no cats. So Squirrel is in need of a home again.
I believe Shelley lives in Riverside, so I imagine that some sort of arrangement could be made within the Inland Empire. It sounds like Kim is spearheading this, so email her directly at kjshutterbug@earthlink.net. Or you can email me and I will forward it to both Kim and Shelley.
I will include Kim's original description of Squirrel so you can read about her great personality!
"She really is a great cat. I had cats all growing up, and she is the strangest, but the best.
She is very friendly. She will talk to you. When you come home she will say hello. She knows her name (Squirrel) and when you say it to her, she will answer you.
She likes to cuddle, and will sleep with you. If you hold her under the blankets, she will lay there all night and purr. If not, she will sleep at the foot of the bed.
She likes to lay on Kevin's chest and groom his beard (He hates it when I tell people that!)
She will lick your nose if you let her, as well as your eyebrows!
She comes when you call her...Not, here Kitty, Kitty...but "Squirrel! Here Squirrel!". If she can see you and you say her name and pat the couch, your lap, or whatever, she will come to that spot.
She smiles.
She adapts well to new situations. It took her about a week, but her and Toby (my german shepherd) get along. So if there is a friendly dog, she has no problem becoming friends. Toby wasn't too happy about that, but he tolerates her :)
She has medium hair that is super soft and fluffy...It feels kind of cottony.
She is gray with a kind of creamy beige undercoat...sometimes she looks grey, sometimes she can look brown, and sometimes, in the right light, she is lavender. Some might call her blue. (That's part of what got her rescued from the pound...I had never seen a cat that color before!)
She is about 1 1/2 years old, and fairly small, though not tiny. [she would be about 3 1/2 now]
She loves her dry food. I tried to feed her a can once...it sat in her dish for 2 days until I threw it out. She doesn't touch scraps or get in the trash.
She is a hunter.
She would like to be an outdoor cat, but I won't let her...I'm overprotective, and part of me thinks she might get stolen, because of her friendliness and unique color.
She hates a dirty catbox.
I have already paid for her to be fixed and microchipped. It just needs to get done. The new owner can have their info put on the microchip.
So that's about everything I can think of. I hope you can help! I really love her, and wouldn't mind updates from the new owner if I could get them."
Again, if you are intersted, please email Kimberly at kjshutterbug@earthlink.net.
